Hello,

Once again can the forum come to the rescue? I have checked then archives to no avail.

2000 ML the front drivers window just stops approx two thirds of the way up, will move up and down perfectly to that point, but will not go any further than 2/3 way up.

I know of the switch issue problem and I am sure its not that, as there is no 'stuttering' and the window moves up and down perfectly when the button is pressed.

In fact when you have it all the way down, the motor whirrs for a couple of extra seconds, same thing on the way up, the motor whirrs for a couple of seconds before the window moves.

I have already have the door panel off, I can see the teethed semi circle gear moving for a couple of seconds before the window starts to move, same thing when it stops after being lowered, the teethed gear moves for a couple of extra seconds.

OK I have a horrible feeling I am going to hear its a window regulator, but I do want to hear from someone else, any suggestions for R&R ing it, I do see some rivets on the Door panel which is not a happy sign.

For anyone who is interested, it was the Window Regulator as I suspected.....
