a/c on & water is dripping from the dash

On the 98 ml320, with the a/c turned on for the first time this season, water drips down from both sides of the dash - onto the driver's right foot and onto the passenger's left foot. What's up with this? Thanks.

dripping a/c

I'd guess that your air conditioner hose is loose or plugged. Look up under the passenger dash and you'll see a drain hose that can get knocked loose by really big feet. If it's hanging just plug it back in. Otherwise it may be plugged and backing up which will take more fiddling I'd guess.

Haven't had a plugged hose problem so never looking into what's involved there. Usually it's just a loose hose problem.

Thanks. I poked around briefly last nite & it seems I will need to remove at least the bottom part of the dash to get access to the a/c plumbing. I saw a few screws, but since I don't like surprises do you know how to do the removal? Thanks.

There are 2 pressure clamps underneath that just press on and can be pulled right off. Basically pull straight down on the panel and it comes off.

Use this link. On the bottom of the Bosch page is link for vehicle specific instructions. It is the same as changing the air filter for the air conditioner. There is a good illustration of where the clips are located.
