iPOD install on 98ML with non-mcs head unit
I posted some pictures on Benzworld. It works. I am pretty happy with the sound but wonder if the iPOD line out would have given me a higher voltage output than the headphone out. I searched and could not find any published numbers on the line level output voltage vs headphone output voltage.

Ipod sound output
The output from the line out (bottom) of the ipod is better than the headphone jack. The headphone output is equalized to compensate for headphone use and cuts off the highest and lowest outputs. The line out is always the best choice as that's a pure line out. Many companies who make the auto adapters have the output jack from the line out feed.

Line out almost always offers higher V than headphone jack. The standard should be at least 1V.
