Upper Ball Joints (4 of a kind not so good)
I was changing the brakes in my wife's car last week and I noticed all 4 upper ball joint boots were cracked. That sent me for a loop but better to find them now before the joint fails.
Well $1200 latter for new ball joints (you have to replace the whole upper control arm) I find myself searching for some replacement info. It seems like a straight forward fix but it is always nice to get tips before I start unbolting. If anyone has changed these any info including the torque values for retightening the bolts would be extremely helpful. FYI I purchased my parts from Phillips Automotive in VA (757-499-3771) rather than form my local SC dealer who wanted several hundred dollars more for the same MB parts. Thanks for your help Nick |
