ML windshield weatherstrip

The weatherstrip around my, 1999 ML 320 (8-98), windshied is lifting from the roof area. It seems it has lost adhesion or memory. Can it be repaired or should the weatherstrip be replaced with O.E. new? Also, must the dealer do it, an independent or DIY?
