Question

Will CE light go out ???

98 ML320, got codes p0170 & p0173. Got advice &

Replaced MAF,will light go out on it's own or do I need a scanner.

If the MAF was the problem it will go out on its own.

May or may not. If the code was for the MAF specifically, it should clear itself. However, if the MAF was so far out of standards that it was throwing off mixtures and such, those codes may remain in the system and keep the light on.
