My first road side battery change in my 98ML cost me $130. However my second change, out of wattanty, cost me $225. I was shocked and called MB Road Side assistance and they told me that the dealers can in fact charge for service. I have two dealers within 50 miles and since I ws closer to the "other" dealer that is who they sent -- both times. I called my dealer ant they told me that they charge the $130 for the battery and a service charge of $25 for road side assistance. So watch out!!! Road Side service is NOT FREE.
