Mb Ra Will Come To Where Ever You Are At Anytime And Replace The Battery Without Labor. I Went To Florida For Vaction For 9 Days. I Came Back And It Turned Out I Left My Radio On And Drained The Battery Completely!!! Try To Jump Start It But Nothing Happened. Called Ra And They Came Within The 30 Min And Replaced It And All For $121. It Was A Steal. Started My Car And Went Home.

"Anywhere" is a bit misleading. They won't send a service tech out 100 miles for a jump start. It is up to the individual dealers as far as how far they WILL go. MB I think expects 50 miles out of them, but the dealer can tell them to use an asp (alternate service provider) for a jump or flat. MB will still pay for that too. But you might not get a battery replaced, just a jump. Some urban areas in big markets you have nothing to worry about, but in the middle of Nebraska along I80 you might have to take what you can get. (OK waiting for the service tech in the middle of Nebraska to post next )

In CT thats not usualy a problem. I think I have at least 3 if not 4 MB dealers in a 50 mile radius.

There is no extra charge for installing a new battery if it is needed either.
Check it out when you need to replace one!?

Is the Diehard Interantional just a regular battery?
I thought it had something to do with my car being a Euro.

So RA will only jump?
If you ask them when they come to change the battery how would they know to come with the right battery as may car is a 83 500 SEC?

Still apparently from the threads you can't call & ask them for a new battery.

True you go to the dealer & they will charge you labor

If RA charged you labor the dealer ripped you off, and I would report them to MBNA. This seems to be the case in the North East dealerships, tell them the car needs a jump and then indicate the age of the battery the RA, if its not on the truck he picks one up at the dealer. RA is one of the only good deals at MB its for lifetime, fuel, jump, tire, etc. At your home on the road at work or at the mall, they will call back and tell you when they expect to be there, most of the time with your radio code in their posession

My first road side battery change in my 98ML cost me $130. However my second change, out of wattanty, cost me $225. I was shocked and called MB Road Side assistance and they told me that the dealers can in fact charge for service. I have two dealers within 50 miles and since I ws closer to the "other" dealer that is who they sent -- both times. I called my dealer ant they told me that they charge the $130 for the battery and a service charge of $25 for road side assistance. So watch out!!! Road Side service is NOT FREE.

RA came & changed my battery for $140
cost of battery just 3 weeks ago...

If the battery is bad I believe the specs say they should change it w no service charge but $25 service chaege is fair

You might want to appeal it...

Good luck

I guess it does depend alot on the MB dealer or tech

To be fair 50 miles is pretty far
takes them time out of there way

Mine was Keyes in LA & they are about 3 miles away

It depends on the dealer. Around here MB of Fairfield are SOB's, and would charge you $125 an hour to change it. While pissing and moaning that its an old car. MB of North Haven would probably do it for cost.

MB of New London from what I have heard will not only do it for cost, they will detail your car as well and give you free coffee. From what I have been told...their customers are LOYAL.

Red face AutoZone Battery -- 1999 ML 320

Just had Autozone replace the battery on my girl friend's ML, about $70 and they did it right in front of the store ...... 7 year prorata guarantee, with first two years 100% replacement. Their batteries are guaranteed for long periods and they replace them at any Autozone ...... A battery is one thing that I think can be a brand other than MB and still provide good service at about half the price of MB.
