4WD tranny on a 617a?
(Cross-posted from the diesel forum, sorry if you read this twice!)
It seems that the OM617a is a common(ish) swap into G-Wagens in Europe. Can anybody tell me what transmission they are using? I would love to have a tail cone that I could bolt directly to a transfer case... Alex

Do a search on 'Force Motors' in the diesel forum. There'a a member there with the Indian version of the Gwagon with a turbo 616. He has pictures of his vehicle with the chassis removed. He's posted about the tranny.

Thats a 5 speed ZF tranny good for 160bhp and originally designed for Euro MB W123 and commercial vehicles so should be good enough for the turbo.
