I just got my 1999 ML430 back from the body shop. A few week ago some lady clipped my left from fender and bumper when I was parked on the street. They have to take the bumper off to repair the fender and light as well as the bumper. After I got the car back I noticed the two bottom attachemet bolts at the bottom of the bumper are just exposed. The body shop said it was like that when they take it off. I don't recall ever noticing see exposed bolts when I wash the car before. Was there a cover plate that cover the openings in the bumper where these two bolts are located or was there a cap that cover up the bolt. The bolts and washers are rusty and you can see them if you stand far back enough and I can't believe Mercedes can design this so sloppy for it to be exposed to road salt and mud. Anyone has any idea?
