Hello Guys
Currently I m driving 00 430 and I m thinking to upgrade my front Grill with Grill that came off 06 350, now I notice they are different chassis and I m wondering if it will fit perfectly.:book:
Have anyone try or have similar experience, please let me know, thanks

Here is a pic of my then traded-in 99 ML320 (W163) next to the newly purchased 07 ML350 (W164).

You can see by the pics that the W164 grill insert would not be compatible with a W163 hood.

Not sure what look you're going for, but there are later W163 grill styles available for your model here and on eBay:

btw, I opted for the chrome grill strips on my W163...procured from eBay.

other people have done the retro fit in the other forum, go to benzworld and do a search. I believe this is what you are looking for.

I think he did some drilling for new hole also some trim and it s fit nicely in his W163...I just need to know how hard the trimming process and specially making new hole to fit...
Guys thank s for the input...I hope that guy show up and give me some tips....:sultan:

FWIW I bought an extra OEM grill on Ebay and then sprayed it with Duplicolor Chrome. Came out fine for me.

Avoid my mistake - I sprayed clearcoat over the chrome, which dulled the finish. I then resprayed the strips with chrome w/o clearcoat. The effect is chrome strips plus silver grill. Not bad if I say so myself.

Don't know how well it will hold up over time, which is why I did it on a spare.

The Grill look s good and shinny as the W163...:)
My W163 is white so what actually I did previously was took off the benz logo and got a good clean up and match the logo with black hard hat color so everything now is black...kind of racy loookin...
What I have in mind is..I found some used Grill that off W164 and thinking to put it on to my W163...I notice is not plug and play action but I do saw a guy from forum who trim grill of W164 and made it fit to his W163...
I need to know how hard the trimmer process cz this material quite fragile
Thank s bud...

What you are looking for is not a modified W164 grill. It is an actual aftermarket part made to look like the grill on a W164, but fitting the W163. Check out www.Formymercedes.com Good Luck.
