Zimmermann Cross Drilled Rotors on ML320
I am considering Zimmermann Cross Drilled rotors or disc for my 2002 and ceramic pads... Zimmermann Cross Drilled (CD)are German.
Is it worth a few extra bucks to go with the CD disc? Better Life of pads? Do they have better stopping performance? Thanks!! Hal |

My indie perfers OEM over anything else when he does maintenance for his customers. That said, Zimmerman is the preferred brand.
As cool as cross-drilled discs look, I gotta ask, do you do any off-roading with your ML? You certainly don't want any tiny debris getting imbedded in those holes while jaunting through the woods...

Drilled or slotted rotors eat pads faster (that is part of the point of the slots and holes, to cut down to new clean pad, as well as vent gasses). On the street the performance will be no better. It is in true track use with constant heavy braking that slots/CD helps.
Unless you really want the look, go with OEM style rotors (brembo OEM replacements are great). |
