G wagen lock barrels

Are the lock barrels on the 460 interchangeable with the one for the Sprinter van?

Bear,

Welcome to Mercedes Shop's Geländewagen forum.

To answer your question above I would suggest that you look over Harold's Geländewagen website about interchangable lock barrels.

1. http://www.rubicon-trail.com/G-Class/wheels/start.html

Check out the remainder of Harald's website for further information about the Geländewagen including technical manuals.

2. http://www.4x4abc.com/G-Class/index.html

In closing I also suggest you look over Mike's website for Geländewagen technical articles submitted by fellow Geländewagen owners.

Respectfully,

Not sure what you mean by the "lock barrels" - hydraulic cylinder?

You can probably get the best answer from Bill M, who uses the ID of "roughneck" on the P3 Forum.

Pete, I repeat the Bill M can probably give you the best answer; but I would hazard a guess that the answer is probably "no".

The locks are from entirely different eras.

Yes I saw your answer but was just showing the pic for clarification as there may have been some language differences as to what I mean, like we say bonnet you say hood.
I know some of the Brits have had success using MB van handles as a straight swop,I'll sign in on the P3 forum later.

cheers Pete
