ML320 Frozen Caliper?
A few days ago, my ML320 with 115,000 miles on it had a Rt. front caliper bind up on it. The pads were very low and required replacement which I did yesterday. I was able to push back the caliper piston without significant difficulty. I replaced the pads and this rotor still seems much warmer than the other side. The pads don't seem to be locking up the rotor like it was before (blue overheated rotor) but it does seem to have increased friction. I did notice that the pads and calipers went in tightly on the caliper brackets on both sides compared to other brake jobs that I have done. My question is-do these caliper pistons tend to bind up? It looks like the piston is ceramic which I would think would have minimum wear characteristics. Should I replace the caliper?
Thanks in advance for any assistance...
