Unimog collector in Acton CA.....

I cannot remember what this guy's name is, but have been to his house(drive by every day too). I would like to email him a couple questions or call him, but I don't recall his name.
I brought a fellow Unimogger to see him a couple years ago in the summer. Since I'm now into MB's I'd like to talk to him again.
Thanks
Charlie

Does he post on this forum?

Are you hoping he'll see this post?

If you know where he lives and drive by his house everyday, why don't you just drop by and say hello?

Howdy Charlie,
I knew one guy back in the 80's that lived in Acton but I don't think he collected them. He had a 57 401. I can ask on the Mog mailing list if anyone knows about your collector.

Howdy Charlie,
Nobody on the mog mailing list knows of any collectors in Acton. Calvin Young is the only person we know with a Mog there or was there. If you find out the name of the collector let us know. Thanx.

If I ever see him out in the yard I'll stop. but he has a gate across his driveway and it's never open,(the one where I live isn't either, unless we are entering or leaving the property.)

This guy has 5 or 7 of Unimogs, most are German army surplus. I think he sells unimog parts too, at least he did a few years ago. Next time I see him out and about in the lettle red Unimog, I'll try to talk to him. I'm looking for a couple items and he just may hive them.
The Fuel Kannister that one could order with the W126's in Europe, and a Euro Fire Extinguisher.
I have an idea that the fuel kannister is the same that the Unimogs could be equipped with. I also think the Unimogs might have the same fire extinguisher.

I have the fire extinguisher mounting clip and extinguisher mounting, just no fire extinguisher.

The gas can my UNIMOG came with is just like this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Brand-New-Sandrik-Jerry-Can-Military-Metal-Gas-Can_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6755QQihZ013QQitemZ230244140422QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW#

It fits in a bracket behind the right tire.

Howdy Charlie,
Someone on the Mog mailing list came up with a couple more people. Terry Skinner has Mogs and he lives on 40 acres on Solidad canyon rd. And just a first name of the other guy Dan.

Notice the user name change.

I don't know Terry, but will keep a lookout for him. I do believe that Dan was this guy's name, but It's been 3 or 4 years. Soledad Canyon Rd. is approx 20 miles in length, but only about 7 miles are in the Acton Address area. The Guy I'm talking about lives on Escondido Canyon Rd. Passed buy there this morning...no one about.

That Kannister is not the same one as could be ordered for the Euro W126's. That one fit inside the spare tire (Tire turned upside down, plastic liner, Kannister nestled inside the plastic liner). I'm told they are quite rare in the US as DOT banned them because of the spout and closure wasn't DOT approved, but they are Olive Drab in color. That is why I thought they may be the same type.

Thanks for your efforts.

Howdy Charlie?,
With the new user name, what do we call you? Have you tried checking with any of the Mog dealers for the part you are looking for?

Charlie is cool.
Chadahar is merely a contraction of my name. It is very easy for me to remember (DUH!) and to tell someone face to face at a GTG. who I am on Mercedesshop.com.
