I just got a '99 ML320 that is Starmarked. It has 39,xxx miles on it. So far everything appears to ok on it, except for when I make slow speed turns. It feels like the tires are scrubbing when I make a slow speed turn such as in a parking lot. My ML was built August 98. A friend of mine has a 98 ML320 that had the similar problem, so the dealer replaced the transfer case. Is this a common problem with the early "runs" of the ML's??

The early transfer cases allowed a 50% front & rear torque distribution. The later ones a 45% front & 55% rear torque dist, & that works much better.

So Benzmac, should I get my transfer case replaced under warranty? My 99 was purchased in the latter part of 98, but I never really noticed anything. Am I not paying attention, or is it a sporatic problem?
