1998 ML320 driver side cat

at 212k miles, driver side cat has finally failed. the truck is getting misfire on all driver side cylinders and when it happens, CEL blinks 5 times and there is significanrt lost of power.
I wonder if you guys could tell me where I can get OEM cat, used or new - I saw several posts here that aftermarket cats usualy fail during a year or so, and as far as I can see, most of the online stores carry aftermarket cats like A&B or DEC.
BTW, who manufactures cats for MB? Is it possible that DEC in fact is OEM?

Have you checked with the dealer to see if your truck is involved in the catalyst recall??

Mileage doesn't matter!! if you chassis number is involved.

Dec isn't even close to OE... Eberspaecher is OE

Thanks M.B.DOC!
Unfortunately my car chassis # (A035087) does not fall under any recall campain, so I have to bite the bullet and fix it. Eberspaecher would cost arm and leg brand new, I guess the price would be higher than residual value of my 1998 ML

Does anyone had experience ordering from http://www.brownrecycling.com ?

Thanks azinn!
BTW - new cat price is about a half of current trade-in value. This is something to think about

Yes, if I was in your position I think I would go with http://www.germanstar.net/catmbenz.htm for $425.00 + shipping with a five year conditional warranty. My 2 cents.

$425+22 shipping to VA to be precise... Looks like this is exactly as doctor would prescribe for my hardly now moving ml320. I hope this treat will keep her rolling for another few years. Thanks again azinn! Now I'll go and get my floor jack and get it ready to work
