1999 ml320: Lights out around the 3 center dash dials
I have a 1999 ML 320. The light behind the 3 HVAC knobs in the center of the dash are not working. I bought the 3 new bulbs at the dealer. I went to change them, as instructed in a post on the ML site, but I can’t seem to figure it out. I pulled the knobs as instructed, but there is a solid piece of opaque glass behind the two outer knobs (no visible bulbs). Behind the center knob there seems to be a bulb recessed so deep I don’t know that I could get it out. Can anyone please shed some “Light” on this for me? I’m not the “Brightest bulb on the string”, but I’ve done far more complicated DIY jobs.
Thanks!! I had this posted on the ML, G wagon forum but had no response, so I was hoping to get an answer here. |

I always use a piece of rubber vacuum line that fits over the bulb to remove those bulbs.

I heard that there is only 1 bulb for this... located behind the center knob. Also it is so deep a hose is the best way to remove the old bulb as the MB Doc says. By the way... I have to do this to mine, too. Since you have so many bulbs, how about sending one my way?
