Fuel Filter - 163 M Class

Just did this at 96k.

Not the most pleasant job. The fuel return line clip is a PIA to get at, off and on.

The in and out lines not too bad once you figure out the trick to getting them off.

No special tool, and probably not needed for most folks. Frankly I have no idea how you would get tool on inlet and return lines anyhow.

$72 for filter online is a bit steep, but so aren't almost all parts for this vehicle.

About an hour to an hour and a half, most of the time spent working on the clips. Not alot of room to work in there. I would guess an experienced tech could do it in 0.5 hours, all in.

Thankfully the PO/dealer had done the mod at 27k. So 70k between filters. Should have done it last year.

Cheers,

Dickie
