Question Small 90's Unimog??

Questions for the Unimog crowd.

I recall a small early 90's Unimog in Das Grosses Unimog Buch (I think) with ~12" wheels and was closer in scale to a lawn tractor or Cushman scooter then the rest of the lineup.

Anyone have a series number and know what availability may be like in the rest of the world?

Adam,

About the only thing I can think of is the Faun Kraka. Other than being of German military descent I'm not sure there is a Unimog connection. The Kraka looks a lot like a Cushman scooter. I know I have seen one for sale in the US. I can't get my Unimog Links to come up. If I do I will find the little bugger and post the link.

The only small Unimogs I know of are the really old '50s 2010 and 401/411 models. They are pretty small, but your comments about the small tires and Cushman looks lead me to think you are talking about the Kraka.

Brent

ps, How do you like the 300 cab? That is one of my favorite G models.

Howdy Adam,
The Book that this little guy is in is "Das Buch Vom Unimog". It is a UX 100. I can't read German but I will copy what is written.
I hope that's close enough for someone to translate. If someone wants a pic I am not sure how to post here but if someone has an e-mail address I can scan it to I will. Hope this helps.

Post Unimog UX100 M - a very small Mog

That's the one - thanks.

These seem to have come out in the mid-90's and were later built under the name Hako. Anyone know if any German municipalities or others may be selling these off? If I could pick up a couple UX 100 M 4x4 for a few grand apiece, I'd probably do so...

Howdy Adam,
You might try posting your question on the Mog mailing list. Do a search for Rocky Mountain Moggers. Then go to Unimog links. Then look for maling lists. Then look for Eddie Runner's Mog mailing list then subscribe. Most of he people on there are a lot more knowlegable about Mogs than I am. There are a number of Mog owners in your area. Hope this helps.

Well that was news to me! I guess you learn something new everyday. I would guess that if you did find some for sale that they would still be spendy. Have you considered the Pinzgauer for a smaller off-roader? I have driven the Pinz, seemed like it would be very capable. The other problem is that if it is not over 25 yrs old you will have importation problems. If somebody else has brought one in or you can convince customs it is off road only(unlikely) you may be able to pull it off. You may get lucky if they import and sell it through Frieghtliner like they will be doing with the big Mogs. Then you could get a new one.

Howdy All,
You could tell customs it's your new one of a kind "golf cart". That's off-road isn't it?¿
