Smile Q's on Lowering ML320

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has ever attempted to install rear springs on an ML320. Any tips or pointers before I try to attempt this on my own? I've changed springs on other cars, but never did one on an ML.
Also, while shopping for springs, I noticed two types of springs for our vehicles (flat and non-flat). Does anyone know what this means or how to tell one from the other?

Thanks!

I've replaced quite a few rear springs due to the strut squaking. It's a MacPherson strut, combination shock/spring assembly, so far I've replaced entire units, but with the proper tool, the spring should be dismountable.
It would be hard if not impossible to do it on the ground, and I'd want it up in the air quite a bit, not just on jack stands.
There are 3 nuts on the top which are really hard to get to, the best thing to use is one of these new ratcheting wrenches, looks like a box-end wrench but it ratchets, need one with an offset that can be changed from on to off position, they are 13mm.
There's one big nut that holds the bottom of the strut to the lower control arm, this is best removed with an impact gun.
The rear sway bar is disconnected (not removed) from the control arm also, then the large bolts removed that connect the lower control arm to the rear subframe. It's pretty involved, as you can tell.
Also to get to those 3 upper nuts, I slide the spare tire carrier back like I'm going to remove the spare and stand between the spare tire carrier and rear differential (remove the spare tire, it allows more room). MB instructions are to remove the spare tire carrier completely, but I think it's more work than it's worth, hard to get to either way.
i don't have the torque specs memorized, one pointer is that before torqueing the lower control arm bolts, the truck has to be on it's wheels; I usually torque these 4 bolts with the truck on the alignment rack, just for easy access while the truck is on it's wheels.
