w163 break problem. What happen?
I drove my 2000 ML today about 65 miles non stop freeway in hot weather about 105F. Stop at my dad's house for about 1 hr and drove home.
On my way home one or break caliper got stock. Happen on this car before. You can search my old post felt exactly like before. The car felt like it had the break on all the time. Then I stop at the first available exit. The car first feel like it was just moderately dragging 1/3 break. Since I was about 6 miles away and it felt like what happen before I decided to take local back to my father's house. I stop along the way to let the break cool. But when I stop for the first time and try to go on my way again the breaks feel it was full break much more break then before. So I stop there again. Trying to decide to call a tow or not but then restarted the car and it seem like the breaks had less dragged again so I preceded. But then after a while I notice no breaking power at all even when I push paddle to the floor and paddle very spongy. Had to stop using the emergency break. So I stop again shut down the car and the creak seem to be restored again no drag normal (although I was driving 25mph and did not really tested the breaks). So a stock caliper(s) could explain 1/3 braking all the time, then full braking all the time, and no breaking, and then normal. Right? The caliper got stuck partially closed, full closed, then fully open (no breaking), and then working normally. But it would it not explain if the caliper is stuck open (no breaks) the break peddle feels very spongy (no resistance at all)? So what would explain the spongy breaks when there is not breaks? Would this car just shut down the breaking system if has extra drag one one or more of the wheel for a while?

Get it to a shop with a competent mechanic.
Also when you refer to stopping parts on vehicles it is spelled brake. Break is if you broke a bone.
