99 ML430 PIAA Foglights
My PIAA foglights on my front bull-bar, just quit working, both of them, thought it was strange. Fuse is ok, I looked at all the wiring and connections, looked good. The rear fog light still operates, so the switch is ok. What else can I check before tearing into the light housings to check bulbs? My wiper fluid canister was recently replaced at the dealer, wondering if there is a connection, due to the proximity of the wires.
Thanks FQ

Frank:
There is also a relay for the aux lighting. Have someone switch on the foglights while listening for the relay to click. The relay location is on the fuse chart on the fusebox lid. The rear fog and aux lights are the same switch, but different contacts in the switch, so I would not totally think in terms that the switch has to be good. Do you have just the lights on the brush guard installed, or do you have the headlight fog bulbs installed also? Only one set should be run through the relay. Using more than 1 pair, or over-wattage bulbs can damage the AAM, which is the body control unit located under the fuse box. Gilly

Dan,
I will check the switch as you mentioned, that may be the problem. I did check the relay, and I even switched the relay from the rear fog lights to the front and it made no difference. The rears still operated, but not the fronts. The only foglights are on the brush-guard, and I never changed to higher wattage bulb. Thanks again, I will post progress. FQ
