Back to my question again, what have you found to be lacking in the stock rotors? Have you experienced brake fade with your stock brake setup? |

I asked about the specific pads and the claims that the manufacturer was making (i.e. the manufacturer's claims are not an "obvious fact"). Your response was to state an obvious fact, that repeated braking produces heat and can cause pads to fade. You have changed your comments somewhat with this bit: "EBC brake pads use better compound material for better stopping distance and reduced brake fade." Are you claiming that merely by slapping these pads on you will reduce your stopping distance in single stops, before heat begins to affect the brake system (fade)? That's one way that your comments could be interpreted, hence my question. Quote:

better pads
pete, do you recommend 'pageids' you mentioned in another post?
my ml has had all pads replaced once, then all pads and all rotors replaced (truck has fewer than 22k miles) in effort to reduce braking noise. i am pleased with braking abilities, so i'll put up with the noise (and dust), but would be happy to be rid of the noise if it could be done with now compromise on stopping distances (i don't race it). |

No more brake squeel for me although I seem to recall one fellow that put them on and didn't notice a change in the brake noise. My 55 has the same old squeel and I'll be putting Pagids on soon. |

I have experience with Hawk pads on my other vehicle, like them, and have checked into whether they have an ML application. They unfortunately do not.
![]() On a street-only ML, I wouldn't see where slotted rotors would be much improvement over stock fitment yet some HARD driving would be necessary in order to achieve a relevant comparison between the two. Anyone ever Autocross an ML? ![]() Stainless steel brake lines would hopefully help to address the less than desireable pedal feel of an ML. Any ideas as to where to source these? ![]() DOT 4 fluid ATE amber/Super Blue fluid or equivalent should be a consideration also. Not sure the MB fluid boil temps. ![]() Any ideas? FR
