Have anyone repalaced their windshield on their ML. themselves.

Has anyone repleced their windshield on the ML themselves??

Does anyone know the procedure for it? Is it easy. I work next door to a porche dealer and they were replacing windshields on their porche. It seem like they just removed the trimming and unbolted something?

If it is that easy I am thinking I will want to replace it myself.

help appreciated.

I did the windshield on my VW beetle and it was just that easy (like the Porsche).

But the windshield on MBs contribute to the structural integrity of the body...I don't believe it's that "cut and dry".

I had my ML windshield replaced last year by Harmon glass, and although the replacement is flawless, I now notice squeaks and other slight noises from the front pillars...so even the pros have trouble doing this properly...

Not easy at all...

Its easy if you have like a little crack.. but when the entire windshield is shattered is far more difficult.. our shop charges $100 canadian just to remove a windshield.. first you have to remove the mouldings, than use piano wire (special tool) to cut the old rubber out from the frame of the car to the windshield.. than you you have to clean it very well.. than you urethane to put the new windshield back on with tape to hold it down.. it sounds easy.. but I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself...
