New M5

I finally found some details about this thing. I'm not too sure what I think about it yet. Here are some pics from the car and driver website.

It has a V-10 with 507 horses 383lbs-ft. Redlines at 8250. Has a 7 speed SMG transmission.

Well...

I am not a fan of the Bangle designed models and the E60 does nothing for me. The exterior comes off as incoherant and loses the great BMW signature lines of the last 40 years. The interior seems cold an uninviting.

The V10 is probably an absolutely wonderful engine but it'll be interesting to see how they tune the exhaust note. To my ear, V10's produce an odd sound...Vipers for instance do not sound good. I can't really describe why I don't like it...I just don't...just my bias. Whatever the case, with 500+ HP and a stratospheric redline, the engine should be entertaining!

As I understand it, a standard manual transmission will be available at some point but not at first. I know that manuals are going the way of the dinosaur, but that doesn't mean I have to like it!

I like it's looks ok all the way around until you get to the front. Those headlights look like some afterthought.

That's that silly "joy stick" controller for the radio, GPS, HVAC, ect that nobody likes.

I don't like it that much. The cockpit looks like some sort of hospital sterile environment and the outside makes it look a little smaller than the current M5 in the picture at least. I'm sure it feels great to mash that pedal though with that v10 under the hood.
