muffler

I'm replacing the muffler on my '88 300TE and was wondering what you guys had to say about the various brands available. Which ones last longer, sound best, etc. Any info would be appreciated.

Also, make sure you use the OE unobtanium hardware and muffler hangers. While you are in there, check your installer valves and glove box filter. Oh wait, my e55 has a filter in the glove box. Doh!

Perhaps the more erudite among you would care to share your vendors so I can file them next to my skyhook entries.

I don't know about the sound of a Mercedes muffler, but a Hermes scarf just screams sophistication!

I like my ANSA but like stated abouve OE lasts longest. Bosal also has a life time warrenty if purchased from Autozone. Borla is nice but I dont think they will make one for your car or that you really need it.

I use exhaust systems from Timevalve, a mail order place if you don't live driving distance from Connecticut. Check their site out,

www.timevalve.com

They use a very good grade of stainless, and they stand behind their products - lifetime warranty and I have experienced their response to a failure after about 10 years, no sales documentation left. They looked, agreed it was theirs and fixed it. Jim

A friend of mine had a dual remus system on his range rover and it sounded amazing.
