I see the problems that derive from high tech, use of machines etc., as being much more complex than just CO2 in the atmosphere. We pave something like 4 or 5 square miles a day. Even Schwarzeneggers own Repo aides say that at the current rate, the Central Valley in California, perhaps the most productive ag land in the world, will be taken over by suburban sprawl in 100 years.

We have a number of freight trains heading for the same spot, so to speak, and the near future is likely to be somewhat hairy.
