Remy Welling is a senior auditor for the Internal Revenue Service with 22 years' experience. But when she was handed the file on a company suspected of underpaying its taxes, it contained something she had never seen before in such a case: an agreement to close the audit before it had even begun.

While i have no idea if GWB has anything to do with this incident, i posted another article a while ago where he didn't provide requested funding for the IRS so they could perform more thorough or maybe just more audits. SO it could have some linkage to current policy. The gov seems to be taking a lax approach towards tax payments during these hard times we are having.....

In the end it amounts to a savings account for the gov, as the day will come when they do get more funding, and then everyone pays, plus penalty and interest. Ugh
