heater hooked up to 12v

what would happen if i hook up a heater with these specs to 12v instead? i know it would not get as warm but would it draw more amps even though the OHMS are set? I guess it would just draw less amps as well. do i have these equations right V/I=R Volt/Amps=resistance

specs: 66 OHMS, 2000 WATTS, 115V, 60 Hz

66 OHMS, 2000 WATTS, 115V, 60 Hz. The only number you would use is the 66 Ohms, but that's wrong. 2000 Watts at 115 V is 6.6 Ohms, but anyway...
I = E/R
R = 66
E = 12
I = 12/66
I = 1.82 Amps at 12 V in your car.

Then P = EI
P = 12 x 1.82
P = 21.8 Watts worth of heat

And if it has a 120 VAC fan, it would be unhappy at 12 VDC.

Get a 12v marine heater.

Some old air cooled cars had gasoline burning heaters. They will produce a tremendous amount of heat at a reasonable cost.

They are also great conversation pieces, BBQ jokes and such.

I'm sorry i should have clarified. the heater is a small heater that i plan on using to heat a cold fuel filter that is being used to filter WVO.

Won't work dude if they don't have even contact on a flat surface they'll burn out in about 1 hour because one part of the element that cannot disapate the heat will fry.

Those listed on ebay are warming drawer heaters.

I am having problems with filtering oil also because of the cold weather. Please post your results if you have any luck.

We are having our first nights in the twenties here and it is going into the teens this weekend. My WVO is pretty thick and I am filtering about a half a gallon a day. That won't cut it.

I had a duh moment. I have resisted heating oil to filter it cause I want to catch the stuff that coagulates when the oil is cool. But I have been filtering my oil at temps above 7° all along. Now if I heat my oil I will be right back where I was, duh. I will be mixing more unleaded during the cooler weather. I will bump the mix up to 70%WVO and 30%RUG with obligatory dose of Diesel Kleen.

So now I am with you. Back to the original question. How to heat WVO to get through the filters?
