Not unlike the Nigerian Scam, this one is from Spain. It comes with a letter explaining that I've won $615,810 and asks me to contact my claims agent at the Santa Lucia Security company.

I got one that claimed that somebody deceased, with my name, had a $10M dollar estate and no heirs. If I could provide proof of my identity I would split the estate with the "lawyer" who contacted me. From the Netherlands...but had "[email protected]" on his email! Hoo--aaahh!

Imagine if one of these were true and someone missed out?

I'm mad because I don't know where these people got my address. I hope they didn't get it from some site where I used my CC. I've had my CC number stolen once and just cancelled it. Who knows, they may have just purchased a mailing list. Should I contact the cops?

I wouldn't get too excited about it. It wouldn't hurt to keep a vigilant eye on your credit card balance though, as you say.

getting a PO box should solve that problem...
