It MAY have affected you in that way. I don't know and I don't pretend to know. However, lets say for the sake of arguement that you have isolated that chemical and tested it several times with nothing changing that could affect the results, it might just be YOU. A certain drug that makes me feel good could be an allergent to someone else. There is no way to know for certain.

Im not a big coffee or soda drinker, so im not too knowledgable about the ingedients in Equal or Splenda. I never use em for anything. However, if Equal does have Saccharin in it as mentioned in the last page of this post, id be cautious.

About 5 years ago a buddy of mines mom was diagnosed with cancer, which had sourced itself in her mouth. Now shes not a smoker, so the eliminated that as a cause. BUT she had been chewing sugar-free Extra or some othher brand of gum for about 10 years, which did contain Saccharin. YIKES!

My mother doesn't smoke or do anything really bad but how did she end up with breast cancer?

That is about as inconclusive a "study" as we can ever see. Cancer can be caused by many things besides smoking. It may start here but might travel there. Besides, Saccharin was rumoured to cause bladder cancer so unless she peed out of her mouth, I don't really think we can draw conclusions at this point. Everything is going to kill you. You are going to die anyways. Just enjoy your life and when it is time to go, check out.

LOl, actually, she did pee out of her mouth, she had to be re-wired after the bladder infection caused complications. LOL God thats a gross thought!

Id agree though aklim-u only live once (as far as we know) so live it up!
Although i must say that if "living it up" means using a sugar substituute....

Happy Motoring guys!

Hey John,

OK, I just looked at a bottle of my root beer and ugh, there is corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup. I guess their secret is that both of those ingredients come AFTER real sugar and real Virginian honey.

What the heck: here's the ingredient list:

carbonated water, sugar, honey, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, natural and artificial flavor extracts, yucca, sodium benzoate- a preservative- and citric acid. Contains no caffeine.

There you have it. All I know is that this root beer is the best I've ever had. Maybe it's the Virginian honey. The brewery was founded by a government worker who decided to quit his damn boring desk job and gamble his life's savings on starting a local beer brewery. The brewery is about ten miles from my place, is very successful, and they have a huge beer festival every summer.

Here's their website if you wish to contact them and order some beer:

Old Dominion Brewing Co.
