So far I think it's the 2001 Crown Vic. In the last 70k miles all i've done was oil, brakes and trans service. Never let me down once.

Apart from my current 123 I would have to say it was my '32 Nash 980 twin ignition 8.

I have always maintained a stable of early cars of every quality and condition, particularly when younger and this Nash, despite having high mileage and associated wear in some suspension components, would always start and run with absolutely no problems, due,in no small measure I believe,to the superb engineering for which this company was the ONLY car manufacturer to make a profit in the depths of the Depression.

I had it for a dozen years and drove it every day to work {20 miles}and all along the east coast for pleasure and to various car meets.

Now of course I greased the wheel bearings, adjusted the brake cables, filed the carbon off the points and checked and adjusted the valves regularly, but all that was routine maintenance for such a vehicle.

I bought it with 99,000 on the Stewart speedo and sold it with more than 250,000 WITH ONLY A WATER PUMP,FUEL PUMP AND FABRIC U JOINTS REPLACED!

But then I'm a bit unusual

I'm curious about a serpentine belt in an '85 Toy. I had both an '86 and an '89 Toy 4X4 and neither had one.

1989 Honda Accord coupe.
I bought it used, with 30,000 miles on it in 1992.
I sold it in 2003 with 225,000 miles on it.
It never failed to start and never left me stranded. The
only work I ever had done on it is brakes, tires, tune up and
three timing belts and three water pumps done at the
same time as the timing belts. A great car.

'89 Honda Civic hatchback-"stole" it when only 8 months old with 19K on it, only time it ever stranded me was when the ignition module died, pulled it 4 blocks to the dealer, and they replaced it for free!(was a silent recall). Had to sell it when the kids got too big to fit in the back(around 85K). My 300D is off to a pretty good start though, only have had to replace things the POs let go(radiator, injectors, brakes and tires).

71 Triumph TR6, purchased in May 73 and never intend to part with it, great car. Keeping it stored in a garage most of its life has kept it from rusting away.

88 Oldsmobile Touring Sedan, just turned 230k and just keeps running. Great car for commuting to work and collecting door dings.

86 300E with five speed, purchased in Feb 90 and driven only in fair weather. Has only 120k and I wish to preserve it.

Longest-owned car was a '70 GTO convertible... just short of 15 years. Not sure how many miles were put on it, but it was only infrequently used as everyday transportation. Had a '69 VW Bug that was bought new by the parents and sold by me at 212,000 miles, I think.... 15 years, also. The '90 Suburban did well from purchase at 110k to sale at about 225k... only a gastank fuel pump left me stranded.

91 Firebird. Owned it till Jul last year when some idiot crashed into it and totaled it. A week after I came back from having it dyno tuned and it made 410 HP at the wheels. Good thing I had a concussion or I would have killed her. Car was used for 6 years every day even in teh winter.

I've owned very few vehicles long enough to have too much history with any of them. I think the longest was the '71 Dodge Power wagon I just sold a couple months ago, after 10 years of ownership. I suppose it could be considered reliable, as it always started when I needed it to. but then I only put about 20k miles on it over that 10 years, and had to rebuild practically the whole drivetrain after buying it.
Had a '67 Chrysler 300 back in the late 80's/early 90's, that I bought from the 1st owner with only 56k miles on it. Was a great car until I couldn't get premium unleaded gas anymore, and sold it.
The SD I have now has been awesome. Just the usual stuff for a vehicle with over 300k on it: ball joints, shocks, belts, ect.

Lets see, since it was first and only car I have had, I would say my 86 190E. It runs great(after a couple of repairs b/c the previous owner sucked at mantainence) and only has 130,000 miles on it.

1990 Volvo 240

The most reliable car has been my 1990 Volvo 240 with 135K hard to believe that a car can take so much abuse it has never left me stranded or failed to start up

1989 Volkswagen Fox wagon. Purchased it to drive to and around Colorado. Payed $1,000 and drove it to Colorado from Florida and for 5 months in the mountains. Timing belt broke at 120,000 but it's a non interference motor so I purchased a $25 timing belt and installed it myself.

After I got back from Colorado, I drove the car every day to the beach for two years. Finally sold the car after three or four years to a friend for more than I paid for the car. He drove it until someone pulled in front of him and caused him to wrap it around a telephone pole.

The car got great mileage and was as dependable as they come. Pretty basic transportation but was very comfortable on long trips for such a econobox. I even piled four others in the little wagon and drove from Breckenridge to Vail with all of or ski/boarding gear. The car also made trips to Aspen, Snowmass, Loveland, Steamboat, Keystone, Copper mountain, and Arapahoe Basin. Not to mention, the car made my daily commute from my domocile, located 1000' above Breckenridge, to work or a the slopes.

1985 Toyota Corolla. Bought new, sold in 2000, and aside from the wear stuff (brakes, tires, batteries, mufflers, etc.) never a single repair.

My 1988 MB 190e 2.3L. I have it for about 10 years. Even brought it with me when I moved from the states to Guatemala, Central America. I bought it with 55k miles on it and it now has 165k miles. Some repairs done but just regular stuff nothing really out of the ordinary that I can recall off the top of my head. Right now, the major problem is the AC; need to fix that this month. Why canīt a car manufacturer make an AC system that lives out the life of the car? But overall, have to say that his has been the best car that I have owned. Second best, a 1988 Isuzu Trooper. That thing could definately take a beating and keep going.
