Good movie thread.
Saturday night my family squished together on the sofa and watched the incredibles. I can't think of a better animated movie since Toy Story. It's tough to produce a movie that a whole family can enjoy but this one easily accomplished that.

Dito the Incredibles. Animation continues to improve but the storys don't always follow suit...
Two of my all time favorites in the family film catagory (not animated though): The Adventures of Baron von Munchausen" (Terry Gilliam's) and "Muppet Treasure Island"

I can't remember the last time we went to a movie, or even sat home and watched one.

I saw a great movie for the family recently: Weeping Camel. Kinda sad at times, but a great ending and a great message for kids. Plus it's true.

Here's a company that edits out nudity and profanity so you can watch more films with the kids:

And I believe they show every bit of skin but for a few well placed strands of hair to clean it up. Her hair is quite long if I recall. In the context of the scene and movie it doesn’t seem sexual or perverse. I would let my kids watch it without fear or embarrassment. After all she is playing the goddess of love. ![]() It’s a great story well told with a message of men rising to wondrous impossibilities in the face of oppression and old age. ![]()

I like fantasy or over the top impossible action and adventure type of movies. I live life and don’t want to go to the movies to gain “life’s experience” and just want to be entertained. I saw the “Looney Tunes” movie last weekend. It was stupid, pointless and I liked it. Then again I liked Pulp Fiction too.

We just saw the incredibles as well and thought it was fantastic. Another one you can try is Napoleon Dynamite. My wife didn't get it but my 11 year old son thought it was hilarious. It's a good lovable loser movie.

Hollywood is so full of itself, and the hangers on need to justify their jobs. They talk endlessly about the social ramifications of movies, ITS A FUKKING MOVIE< ITS MADE UP !!! There is NO REALITY TO IT,,,one exception was American History X, exposing nazi racism for the lie it is. The PRincess Bride is another great family movie, its a classic, "battle of the wits",,,,etc, etc. there are LOTS of good family films, I also loved "pirates of the carribean" with johhny depp,,, Time Bandits Sandlot There is one where a bunch of kids make a flying machine, cant remember the name of it PG and PG 13 movies actually do better at the box office than R movies. |
