help,urgent,
I am trying to changes my oil cooler hose(top). 1984MB TD. It has become a pain in the rear.I did end up getting the old hose out but not so easy getting the new one in
 . I was wondering if the medal part of the hose can be replaced with all rubber?

You will do better posting this in diesel discussion. I have seen these hoses modified successfully. The secret to replacing them is lifting the engine slightly and removing the drivers side motor mount.
