Another reason to not shop at Best Buy

Quote:
A tale of customer service, justice and currency as funny as a $2 bill

PUT YOURSELF in Mike Bolesta’s place. On the morning of Feb. 20, he buys a new radio-CD player for his 17-year-old son Christopher’s car. He pays the $114 installation charge with 57 crisp new $2 bills, which, when last observed, were still considered legitimate currency in the United States proper. The $2 bills are Bolesta’s idea of payment, and his little comic protest, too.

For this, Bolesta, Baltimore County resident, innocent citizen, owner of Capital City Student Tours, finds himself under arrest.

Finds himself, in front of a store full of customers at the Best Buy on York Road in Lutherville, locked into handcuffs and leg irons.

I smell one hell of a lawsuit here. If the guy is smart, and his story legit, his next phone call would be to an attorney.

I'm not singling out this post, I could have picked anybody.

What in the hell does this guy have to sue anyone about? He was embroiled in a big mix-up with a lot of stupid people which he helped to prepetuate.

Cry me a m****** river...oh dear, I got arrested for being a smartass. Get over it, this would be the very definition of frivilous.

Getting hauled off to jail in handcuffs for spending leagal USA currency that the cashier was too damn dumb to know was real money is all the reason you would need.........if it never escalated from an exchange of words then fine....if handcuffs come out somebody is gonna pay...and pay dearly. The fact that there were enough morons around that this happened is all the reason....if it happened to me I would certainly sue.....for false arrest and everything I could legally get. This is about as NON frivoolous as the get...

If your Neighbor sues you becasue you have the same flowers they have....now thats frivolous.

Pay for what?

What does the police officer do when coming into the situation at the eleventh hour? He does not know the facts or the history of this specific scene. You bet your ass he's gonna lock someone up he percieves has possibly commited a crime.

You guys kill me. This is one of those things that you'd (BHD) be railing on if it was a black youth (who was percieved to have commited a crime), but since it was an old white guy you turn indignant.

Find me one specific person who was at fault in this situation and caused this guy anywhere close to enough grief that he should sue. You guys see this as a justification for a money grab from a business you don't like (who was not a fault in the least).

The cop is just as guilty.....since when is it a crime to spend legal USA currency......can we say false arrest.......exactly what crime did he commit? None is the correct answer.

Can your neighbor call the police and have you arrested for no reason what-so-ever? If they did what would you do.....? Keep quiet and suck it up is one thing I can bet you would not do.

And by the way...any vendor has to accept legal USA currency.....they can't argue if you try to use $5 bill we will have you arrested.

Nope, I expect the officer to have enough professionalism to be able to immediately notice that what was going on in that store was a misunderstanding. Even the idiot employee should have had enough brain power to notice that the marker was not turning black on the bills. The cuffs should have never come out - period. If I'm not breaking any laws, I will NOT tolerate being cuffed and stuffed. Sorry, this isn't a case of the idiot woman parking a hot cup of coffee between her legs.

I was thinking of upgrading my stereo in the '94 wagon (four dead speakers) but I think I'll wait until I have enough Susan B Anthony dollar coins from US Postal service stamp machines before I make the appointment!

Like I need any more reasons to not shop at Best Buy.

Worst Buy hasn't seen a penny of my money in the last 5 years.

I hope Best Buy loses big on this one.. and hope it hurts the entire company.

I had an unpleasant experience with them trying to hook up a new cd player to my old 300sel. Unfortunately, they blew the factory amp and claimed that the car arrived this way. Strange since I came in to Best Buy listening to the old radio just fine on the speakers.
