Bill O'Reilly is on a pedestal supported by the GOP to smear democrats, just as is Rush, Imus, and a large number of others. Let them continue to banter, as people are now beginning to hear how ridiculous their mantras O'Reilly are!

yea, Al Franken and Rhandi Rhodes are one their own. My uncle is an investor in Air America with a whole bunch of other DNC members so don't think for one second it doesn't happen on both sides of the track. The thing that confuses me about the O'Reilly and Limbaugh hate is they clearly state their own opinion, there is no hiding the right wing bias and it's an op-ed not a news broadcast. Why do liberal news anchors get a pass when they misguide the public (60 minutes rings a bell) while actively hiding their own opinions and report with a illusion that they are "covering" a story. The big difference is O'reilly can be sued for libel or slander while "news" organizations get the freedom of the press pass. |

Last night, on "The Daily Show", guest Bill Moyers made a statement that made incredible sense to me. He said that the right wing hates journalism and being reported on, they prefer to have "pundits" act as journalist to get their message and spin out and then up the ante by attacking real journalist.
In a sense, Botnst hit the nail on the head . . . guys like Bill, Rush, Hannity aren't journalist, but like Comedy Central's Jon Stewart . . . they just play one on TV. |

Bill Rush, and Hannity don't pretend to be journalists....they are commentators and never hide that fact.

Is Molly Henenberg or a reporter or an editorialist? To me, that's a much more interesting question. Especially on TV 'news' nonverbal communication, careful inflection of voice, and things left unsaid all affect how we receive information from a reporter. In the case of FoxNews REPORTERS they do as good a job as any presenting facts. It is all the nonverbal stuff that grinds folks' corn. The same thing goes on all TV channels. It's just that we have blinders to teh sources that we find most agreeable. Especially on TV. And that's why I don't watch an awful lot of TV. It's too shallow and too refined, I don't care which channel. |
