The pills that you get at Rite Aid. The prices have dropped it used to be over $100 a bottle. I should also say that after years of sports and the military Motrin does wonders. You can take up to 6000 mgs a day without any ill effects.

No ill-effects from 30 pills/day? Or did you mean 600mg?

They say 6000mg, it blew me out of my chair as well.

I'm not a pharmacologist but dosages found on the web go from 1200 to 6000. Ibuprophen is a blodd thinner so YMMMV.

I remember asking him about glucosamine at my first visit. Kinda smiled, cocked his head and stated "it couldn't hurt". I had started taking the stuff right after my injury and up to surgery.

Ibuprofren is 200 mg per tab in normal over the counter pills. They recomend two at a time. You can get prescription strength at 800 mg per pill, kinda stupid, just take 4 or the non prescrip ones., but anyways, too much Ibu is bad for your liver....

Is motrin a brand name for Ibuprofren? If so, 6000 a day is dangerous.

Ok, I located it, but it says not to take more than 6 (200 mg) a day, unless a doctor says its ok

strange, but true. In reading about childrens fevers, and I have lots of kids, it says a child may go into a seizure, and start shaking, turn green, vomit, etc. etc, it says, its no big deal,,,that it will last a few minutes and then go away, hell, if any of my kids ever had that happen to them I woulda freaked !!!!!!!!!!!

Motrin passes through the liver, you have it confused with tylanol.

1200mg is the max sustained daily dosage.

I have...I found out I had arthritis when I went to the Dr for a torn Rotator cuff.

THe MRI is what told him....but then like they say..some people will respond differently than others so I can't completely discount it, but can say it made no difference I could notice.

Pain killers also are kind of strange with how the respond for me...two 200mg Ibuprophren tablets are the only thing that works for headaches with me...however 800mg Motrin (ibuprophren) causes an alergic reaction...

Percocet works jst as well as M&Ms for me with pain..meaning they do nothing at all .....(well not exactly nothing Percocets give instant constitpation for the duration I take them)

well fortunately the arthritis I have causes me no real problems ecept with radical climate changes that happens in spring and fall....the Percocets were after surgery....of which I have had two. They pulled me off the percocets 3 days after the first one due to its effects...adn I went through the second with no pain relief as nothing they gave me worked at all.( 3 different meds forget the names).which was not terribly important becasue I have an unusually high pain threshold. And never really suffered that much.
