This one's for you Bone...

Anyone read this book? Looks interesting if true. I mean Michael Moore owning Halliburton stock - that's funny.

A buddy of mine showed me that book last weekend when we met for coffee.

Damn funny! But a great expose of some of the biggest hypocrits around, Michael Moore one of them.

Does it really have a copy of the paperwork for his Halliburton stock?

Though I didn't take a close look at the book, the back cover has a photo of a list of Moore's investment stocks. Haliburton is right in there!

Here's an article:

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=47174

Here are some examples from the article:
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who proclaims her support for unions, yet the luxury resort, the vineyard and the restaurants she partly owns are strictly non-union. While she advocates tough new laws enforcing environmental regulations on the private sector, the exclusive country club she partly owns failed to comply with existing environmental regulations for the past eight years – including a failure to protect endangered species.

Noam Chomsky
has made a reputation for calling America a police state and branding the Pentagon "the most hideous institution on earth," yet his entire academic career, writes Schweizer, has been subsidized by the U.S. military.

Barbra Streisand is another proponent of environmentalism, yet she drives an SUV, lives in a mansion and has a $22,000 annual water bill. In the past, she has driven to appointments in Beverly Hills in a motor home because of her aversion to using public bathrooms.

Ralph Nader plays the role of the citizen avenger – the populist uninterested in wealth and materialism, pretending to live in a modest apartment. In fact, he lives in fancy homes registered in the names of his siblings

Speaking of hypocrites...

...what about yer' 'ol pal Tom "Do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do" LeLay?

If I'm not mistaken, he lead federal efforts to 'save' Terry Schiavo's life but chose not to connect his father to life support. Bah.

The hypothesis is that when a conservative does something inconsistent it's front page news, thus no need for a book.

You're right; probably not worth a book. An otherwise painless death held up by an outsider's selfish manuvering and political grandstanding is more appropriate for Mr. DeLay.

So you think its wrong to point out the hypocracy of the self righteous liberal blowhards who's own loudmouth grandstanding justifies them being knocked off the iviory pedistals they climbed up on as pointed out to the public in this book?

If any of its wrong then why doin't they sue for libel...or is it becasue the book is 100% accurate?

He has been a professor in the Philosophy dept at MIT since the universe began. Since when does the military subsidize philosophy departments?

Surprised.....the Title of the book describes the Democratic party to the "T".

THey justify anything they feel like stooping to do...and resort to inventing issues with republicans and create expensive witch hunts for non crimes like they are doing now ......

Chomsky is a linguist, maybe even a cunning one. Military does quite a lot with linguistics and language. Philosophy too, i.e. ethics, group dynamics, communication, etc...

from the excerpt of the book on Amazon it appears that Mr. Chomsky decries the military and urges others not to accept their money yet has been funded by the military for many years.
