Nothing to do.

Ok, I am 18, don't have much extra money, and I really need new friends. Friends from high school are now in college and drinking most of the time.

I am looking into piano lessons of all things to take up some free time.

Anyone care?

Learn piano and work for a trendy piano bar like Howl at the Moon or something like that. You'll get to perform for an audience, and a lot of hot girls will buy you drinks while sitting on your lap on stage.....how's that sound?

True story. Not me though. ;)

You might want to practice for 3 years to make it all legit :)

Howdy sLoweredK300e,
I took piano lessens for 5 years..... hated it!¡ Don't know how you will meet new friends sitting in front of a piano practicing. Get a dog and find some dog activities. Dogs are chick magnets :-)

From what I read you are not in college, although your high school friends are. Why not get a job? You will like it or not. Either way it will tell you something about you. Then go to step 2.
This is life.
Best regards,
Mark

Get a good job. Go to like bartending school, and get a cool job being a bartender. Try the whole dog thing though. IMHO my great dane doesn't do well with chicks as she gets defensive when they come close.

Or you could be like me. Selling insurance aint all that pretty, but the money is good. And you get to meet cool people!

Piano is cool too, guitar gets more women - just don't become a hippy.

Join the army

Get a real job

Or go to school, college at a state school ain't that expensive. I am paying my way through with the help of loans and I am not that smart. Heck I know a Dr. who flipped burgers to get himself through med school and now owns a multi million dollar practice. If I had to foot the bill eight now I'd dump the MB and work more, it would take longer but is do able.

Work on making some money. Then you can buy toys and do hobbies to keep from getting bored.
