Are any of you 100% MB Guys?

I am in LOVE with MB's, mostly the older ones. I was wondering if anyone else does not drive anything but an MB as their personal car and has a MB for fun. For example I have my W140 S500 for my personal car and my 230S Fintail for my fun MB.
What do you guys have?
Also do you guys strongly dislike BMW's as much as I do?
Does anyone live in PA by Philly or Newtown?
How many miles do your "babies" have on it?

You can see the other weird iron I drive,hell, when I was in my '20's my daily driver was a '27 Buick!

I must say,in defense of Bimmers I had a '76 BMW 530I that I bought for $450.00,had 119,000 on the clock and split O ring seals,and worn clutch packs in the ZF auto tranny.

Rebuilt the tranny in the driveway with new hard and soft kit and the car finally failed me at 274,000 miles with a rod thru the block.

I got a 325XI wagon (I think that was the model, but im probably mistaken) and it was sitting in my driveway and my 13 year old son (who is VERY FOND OF MERCEDES HE LOVES CARS,he takes after his daddy) sat in the drivers seat and pushed the petal, he said it was sooooo light it had no weight at all. I prefer heavy pedals heavy cars. BMW's are just not appealing and they are MB's enemies!
O yea I forgot to mention,my son who is in 8th grade came home today with a picture that he drew in art class as a project and it was a pic of FINNY. Man was I proud.This kid loves his Benzs and he even found my Finny. It took him about a year, but he did it. He also has a silver Mercedes penndant on a necklace that he wears. I love when kids like their cars. It makes me happy,but I dont let it interfere in his stuides.

Not really.

I like them, but am a BIG FOMOCO guy (mostly Mavs and 73-79 F Series stuff, but Torinos, Fairlanes, Montegos, ect...) and like Euro cars in general, mainley Volvo, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, the occasional Alfa, Fiat, VW, Saab, ect...

My work beater is a 92 190E 2.3, and my wifes is a 1988 BMW 735iL, but if I've got a couple guys riding with me, I take the Beemer (way more room).

We also both drive several of our pickups, mainely the 1978 shortbed stepside 4x4, 1979 Free Wheelin' shortbed stepside F100, or the 1976 shortbed stepside F100 with a seriously built 429 (ran a best of 13.90s with no juice). It's pretty rough looking, and is great to surprise Hondas with sewerpipe tips with.

ive always wanted a quality german car and ive been attracted to benz's for ever. i think this first benz i have now is just a start. after college and making some money ill buy a new benz turbo diesel if they still make them and maybe another w123

Did any of you ever drive a VW Jetta?My son has a 99 Jetta WB edition as his first car. It has 109,000 miles. I like it,do any of you think of this car as a cheaper MB with a fewer options? I really like it and its easy on the pockets. IT has everything a teenager would need and has a great 4 cyl engine. Its a wonderful car.

Well,I was young and stupid {though no longer young,I'm not sure about the stupidity quotient}Now,of course I know better.

Would anybody be interested in a 1993 Toyota T-100 Pick up with 89,000 miles and automatic tranny. Its a nice truck. I drive it occasionally and it starts right up!Very reliable, asking maybe $5,000. Anybody interested. Its in Perfect Condition for its age. Toyotas are built with quality to.
I have a 1991 Toyota Previa with all the options that were offered in those days and it still runs strong without anything being rebuilt or replace except for the usuals (tires,cleaning of the gas tank,etc...) it has 235,000 miles on it and is still going strong. Beauty,would never sell it.

Since I own only one car I guess this makes me a 100% MB guy. I would not say I dislike BMW but unfortunately there are no vintage diesel BMWs available. Mileage of my 300 D is unknown - it's probably around 200k.

I am not 100% Merc due to my 1995 Chevy S-10. It is an extended cab model with 4.3 V6 with port injection (not a very common on S-10's at the time) and 5 speed manual transmission. One thing it definitely can go is GO!!

I don't quite NEED a truck, but it is one of those things that it is used enough that it is hard to imagine not having it. Sure, I could hook a trailer to one of the Mercs, but I would say that 50% of the time the bed of the truck is used at a last minute decision. I am not going to drag a trailer around every day.

A Unimog is too costly and too slow for road use, however, if I had one I mind speak differently.

I have though about buying another S-10 and putting a diesel in it, but it would have to be tiny as the 4.3 V6 barely fits. Ideally, I would like to put a 606 turbo in it, however, that would be a very expensive hobby and require about as much modification has this S-10 that is linked below.

You can easily find BMW 524 Turbo Diesels{1985-87} at quite reasonable prices.

Supposedly very durable but I never liked rubber Gilmer belts as opposed to metal timing chains.

I do. My kid loves them. He has Benz shirts, making Benz plaques at CNC class, etc. So I let him use my 16v. The deal is - it is mine, in my name, he can use it, he buys the gas, fixes anything that breaks, does the scheduled maintenance, pays for his insurance, and if he does well in school, he gets the car.

So far, he's bought lowering springs and put them on himself, he's tinted the windows, put a decent stereo in himself, and replaced the SLS shocks and chambers himself. I let him put our unused C280 Sport wheels on it. He's done other repairs, like a new hood strut, fixed an electrical issue (with my help), changed the belt, and replaced some damaged trim in the trunk.

He's also arranged a get together of other rev heads (16v cars). Out of that, he met a kid that wanted the old chrome 16" rims from our SL, and traded him for an EVO1 front lip. So now my kid is prepping it so he can punch a mold, and then wants to make them for others out of carbon fiber. Then he wants to try to make a CF hood.

One of the other 16v kids (definately not "Indigo" kids!) brought his car by our condo. This 17 year old kid built his own induction system, designed and installed a home made turbo kit with a Garrett turbo, an all aluminum and polished intake chamber (which he TIG'd himself), designed his own water injection, lowered his car, and all kinds of other cool stuff.

Yes, there seems to be good kids out there still.

I've actually been looking for another 524 (I refer to them as 535Ds, don't ask, lol). They also used that SAME EXACT engine in some 80s Lincolns, good little engines, not the best platform. Never liked Lincolns from that era.

They USED to be reasonably priced, but that's not so true anymore. With everybody buying up all the old diesels for WVO, biodiesel or whatever, the prices have went WAY up. Seriously, for years, nobody really wanted that BMW, but now they seem to go for a premium... when they can be found.
