I've been called a car snob

This girl told me that I was obsessed with yuppy cars. It's true that I enjoy older Benzes, Volvo's and , even some BMWs. I would not call my self a snob becasue of it though. For instance, I can by an old 560 sel tune it to the nines and and still be cheaper then a new camry. I would also have a much nicer driving car. I find that it is a good value to buy someone's older high end car and fix what needs to be fixed and enjoy it with out the depreciation expense of the original owner. This said person went out and spent 20,000 on a newer toyota, and then another 3000 on a extended waranty. I don't consider this to be a smart financial decision, as she has paid more, and really got less. So, I would have to say, that I 'm not a car snob, but a intelligent consumor.

A lot of these types of things are caused by jealousy.
This person is especially jealous, because you not only have a nicer car,
you paid less than they did.

It's like the notion that a man gets a sports car because he has a small penis,
or that getting a nice car is due to a midlife crisis.

Why should a man (or woman) settle for a piece of crap, if they can afford better?

I removed the rear seat from my 1985 300D so I could replace the shocks. I decided to leave the seat out because it's so handy having all that room to carry crap. I told the guy at the parts store the other day that the Benz had become my farm car. He thought I was pulling his leg. The idea that someone would use a Benz as a farm vehicle struck him as so odd. The funny part is that my Benz is worth less than the old pickup he drives to work.

That's the part I love. Besides my Fords, I like Mercedes, BMW, Saab, Volvo, ect... and most people around here even think like a Volvo 240 is a EXPENSIVE car, lol.

Same with the old Mercedes. At one point I was using a old W123 wagon for coon hunting. I had my dogbox in the back and it worked pretty good. Even had a few deer, squirrels, rabbits and pretty much any other game that was in season back there.

Nothing like going to the processor in a Benz wagon and unloading a deer, great times.

The weird part now though, the old W123 D wagons have went WAY up in value, I'm assuming cause of the Biodiesel crowd...
