Lately, I've been experimenting with different Vodkas in my martinis. I can't remember which ones I liked....need more testing!

I'm still keeping the Kettle One, I like it I have never been a gin drinker I think the cause is an overdose of the stuff when I was a young lad, projectile vomiting is a bad memory.

My gramps who's 90 years old this month drank a shot of vodka with every meal if I recall, for at least 20 years if not more. My granny's cooking can be pretty oily and sometimes I wonder if the vodka prevented any development of heart issues/artery cloggage. Probably just genetics, but who knows.

I bartended for 10 years, the last being 5 years ago. Back then, not as many Vodka brands around, the best being Stoli Crystal. It always amazed me when an a-hole would order a top shelf Vodka for his screwdriver! What a waste! Currently, I like either Absolute or Grey Goose.

Not a big vodka drinker myself, but I'm part Slavic and my grandfather used to give me shots of this mental plum vodka/gin called 'slivovice' when I was a kid.

This stuff is mental. I'm in a rock band and I've had my share of drinks over the past decade or so. Slivo is at or near the top of the list when it comes to purely evil, evil spirits.

It kicks you going down, a few more times once it's down there and then a couple of times more just when you think you've handled it. A total sleeper of a shot. Great to take your favorite macho hard-drinker friend down a couple of pegs. I avoid it like the plague now. Only thing I could think of that might be worse would be shoepolish moonshine or maybe real absinthe.
