it has long been a sore spot between me and my wife, due to the amount of money i have spent on it, i decided to sell it to keep the peace, i really hate to, hopefully it may not sell with a 10K reserve. for any less i would just as soon park it in a barn some where and enjoy it once a month

Hey, I notice that the auction ended at a pretty respectable price, especially considering the mileage.

It went for more than double than I would've guessed.

Does this mean you get to keep it?

You're going to personally drive the car all the way to Canada?

That's a helluva drive.

I hope the buyer is in B.C.

I think you've made the right decision....too much rain recently in the NW to make the drive.

Plus, Seattle / Vancouver area is damn cold.

With the sale of your wagon, I guess that leaves you with just the 300SE and the Beemer.

i will have the Beemer, the euro 500SEL and the 300SE. i am going to buy a 300TD on monday if it is up to my standards. i will likely go through it and fix what needs fixing it and sell it.
the 300SE is going to get a valve job this week and it is going to be sold, i tried to sell it a few months back, but i was doing a check before the buyers shipper was to pick it up and noticed a lot of coolant crust on the head to block surface, so i refunded his money after telling him of what i found, it was on ebay, so i didn't want to deal with an upset buyer after the car had already been shipped to brooklyn.
i am doing the timing chain all the tensioners and the waterpump on the 500 this weekend was getting a slight rattle at times, when i pulled the valve covers, that was the cleanest valve train i have ever seen, car has 144K on it. must have been well cared for

Do you do this for a living? i.e., buy used Mercedes, fix them up and sell them?

It seems like you put a lot of money in the cars, like replacing the grill, headlights, etc., get them to excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition, only to sell them when they're almost perfect.

i going to buy and resell them, but not restore them like i had been, too much time and money. i was planning to keep the wagon for myself, but i needed to sell it, but i have been looking locally for cars to buy and resell.
