total shock the other day when i added some washer fluid to my 300SE after it had been running. there was steam coming out of the res!! i didn't even know it had that feature. once again, mercedes' freakin' rule!!!

Aluminum (Coiled) Heater inside the WW Bottle
W124 chassis uses:
Engine coolant to warm the WW fluid. Electrically Heated WW nozzles on the Hood Some of the older W126 chassis had a bladder at the bottom of the windshield that was full of engine coolant ,which warmed the windshield.

One thing never addressed in this thread was the original mention of windchill being a factor in the washer fluid freezing. This is NOT the case.....10F air blowing 100Mph is still 10F....Wind Chill is the Factor of temperature when related to it hitting a person's skin.

Even though it's not "technically" wind chill, I think that wind moving across the windshield will cool it faster than still air.

If you move fast enough through the air it will heat up won't it?
 . In the SR71 I read that they stuck their meal packets against the front wind screen and it made the meal nice and toasty.

My GL has heated everything - mirrors, seats, washer fluid, even the steering wheel. Must be the Canadian edition.
Whatever the case, I love it! Makes those early winter morning starts a breeze...er...zephyr.
