Beer in the morning....mmmmm

Once every 5 weeks I have to do an overnight shift. Well, I find it very hard to sleep when I come home at 7am. I am tired but can only sleep for like 2 hours at a clip and then only get about 4 hours total. My solution..?? BEER!

I tried sleeping pills, didn't work. Now I just put down 2-3 beers when I get home and I sleep for about 5 hours. This is great, drinking beer at 7am!

I usually try something different all the time. To me, any light beer sucks. Anything made by Anheiser Busch SUCKS. I go for the darker beers. I was stuck on Molson for a while. $18 for a 28 pack of NR bottles!

Favorite beer: Negro Modello
Dos Equis
Yeungling Premium
Augustiner Dark
Molson

Curent flavor I am trying: Red Hook (sampler pack)

Red Hook - was may absolute favorite when I lived in Oregon. A local bistro had a "pounder" for $1 DRAFT . It's been missing from my life for almost a decade now - but - last week while in Knoxville a place we were dining had it draft, Yes I had a Grande!

Nothing beats Lindeman's Framboise Lambic... in moderation, of course. Sweet, but tasty.

For cooler months, Tenent's Velvet (if you can find it)
Summer: Pilsner Urquell
ANYTIME: Kronenbourg 1664

Very much so. Love my Turbodog and Amber. But I had some Gracier Beer several years ago and it won my heart.

I watched a show on Yeungling the other night. Interesting story--4th largest brewer in the US & the oldest!

The beer is mediocre at best to me.

It's not full and fancy, rich tripple anything... but around here it's priced in the mid-low range. (I won't mention the specific price because they vary so much from state to state) Maybe it just tastes familar... I prefer their chesterfield ale.
I drink it when I fish and it often draws the passers by to comment on their old sales route for Dick Yeungling... bla bla bla.
In the woods of PA it's a badge of acceptance. That and it just tastes familar.

I didn't mean to give the wrong impression--I don't mind it a bit. I thought all you Pittsburg guys drank Micky's Big Mouths (or is it little kings)? It is pretty rare down here. I went to a wedding in St. Augustine last year and these two guys were gushing over it like it was a godsend and it was the nightly special at $1.50 per. I drank it all night and view it much like Budweiser, ect...

I haven't had the Chesterfield Ale.....just the regular in the green bottle with the gold label.

I think Beer doesn't travel so well. Best to drink whatever suits you thats brewed a days truck drive away or closer. Ever drink any chinese beer? Something spelled like 'Tsing Dow' almost 20 years ago was 5 bucks a case in Columbus OH... tasted like formaldehyde. But when I was in Tiawan I drank their state monopoly brewed "Tiawan Beer' and I will still swear to this day it was one of the best beer's I have ever tasted.

Was never a morning beer drinker....and at my current age (mid 40's) I can't stomach it that early...and unless I do eat first I get heartburn.
