Replacing Neutral Safety Switch

I need to replace the neutral safety switch on my '95 E320 sedan and wondering if anyone can tell me where it is located and how easy it is to change. It's a $300 job says my mechanic. Any help out there? Thank you!

Try the Tech forum; do a search for neutral safety switch, and you will find your answer.

Just replaced mine on the '87 300E. It costed $383.75 at the dealer. The switch was $66.50, and the bushing is $4.25. Rest is labor.

I was told if you have access to the bottom of the car, it's an easy fix. But since I don't have access to a lift, I had to suck it up and paid the dealer.

Did the changout on the SDL a few months back. Took less than 20 minutes. On the SDL it's right there on the left hand side of the tranny. A couple of wheel ramps, a drop light and some tools and there you are.
