Introduction

I thought I would introduce myself and my project. I've been a member here for awhile but haven't posted much. I've mined these forums for the wealth of excellent information, though.

I just got back from Iraq in late December and now that the honeydo's are done I can start on my car. I have an '85 300cd that just got repainted anthracite. It has an 86 SEC palomino interior in it, euro headlights and bumpers and 15" bundt style wheels.

My projects are:

- Install HR lowering springs and Bilstein HD Shocks and rear sway bar
from TD if I can ever find one!
- Coat inside of vehicle with Quietcoat (sound deadening material)
- Install new stereo system
- Replace dash that was torn up while thief was removing the $10.00 radio
- Fix Sunroof

Since I have to remove the dash (to replace it) and remove the headliner to fix the sunroof I decided to go ahead and remove the entire interior and coat it with the Quietcoat stuff. Then the only noise will be coming from the air leaks around the windows!

Does anyone know where I can get the front coil spring shims besides from my local Mercedes profit center?

Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself.

Hello Ray and welcome to the forum.

Sounds like you've got a lot of work ahead of you...........

I have not found the rubber spring spacers anywhere but the dealer. The price was not outrageous...........$12. each or so...........IIRC. You can also try Phil..........the helpful parts fellow on this site.........just press the "Fastlane" button on the first page and give him a telephone call. He can get just about anything whether it's listed on the web site.......or not. It saves the drive to the dealer.........but.........if he has to get it from M/B..........the prices will likely be comparable.

For future reference, it's normally preferable to post in "tech help" for M/B related technical questions........but.........no biggie..........
