Sorry Hatterasguy, I think that may have violated the rule about personal attacks.

Aren't you the guy who recently said something like, no it wasn't your finger that was jabbing me in the chest, it was something else and jabbing somewhere else. Not sure exactly what you meant , but neither of my best guesses is too cool.

If you can't beat me in one on one b-ball, go holler for the teacher to punish me. Yeah, that'll work.

See, I pay you a compliment on your nascent sense of humor and you go off half cocked with some B-ball challenge. I just can't win.

A five year old girl with her right hand tied behind her back and the sun on her eyes could beat me at B-ball. DUH!

If you define vitality and manhood in terms of outscoring someone in a meaningless game of hoops, then you got me.

May I, however, also suggest that you look into purchasing an old Cadillac Eldorado, you know, the one with the real longggggggggggggg hood.

Incidentally, if you were not so busy trying to come up with retorts to my posts, you'd have noticed that the comment about violating OD Forum rules was aimed at...drumroll please...myself.

Of course, I would not have expected you to get it.

Man, this is just too funny.

If you get to invent the definition then you get to decide how to apply it.

Oh, I thought you said they didn't want to pay taxes when in fact, they did pay taxes. Did I misunderstand?

Lots of people write things. doesn't mean they understand what they write.

The logic exhibited is a steel trap.

Not wanting to pay taxes does NOT mean one doesn't pay taxes.

Am I missing some inescapable logic here?

I'm am, after all, merely a sub-genius.

"Sub" as submarine? Sub sandwhich? Underground (as in subterranean)? Submissive?

I am confused

The definition? I imagine there are about 10 to 20 thousand definitions for patriotism, for starters.

You said a mouthful there. After reading your post again, I guess I can see how maybe you were aiming the "violating the rules" remark at yourself but it was a bit vague. And you're claiming that saying, "that's funny, old man" was a compliment? The B-Ball remark was a METAPHOR. Look it up.

(what's the word that I am searching for here???) oh yes ... stupid, but it also worthy of (what's that other word that I am searching for here???) oh yes...contempt.
Contempt is one of your strong suits. Some patriotism is way solid and I believe I said that earlier. Often, it's based on stubborn pride with little intelligence mixed in. Check out all the people who still believe the biggest mistake we made in Vietnam was not turning it into a parking lot -- you see, we're America, and America doesn't lose wars.

So in a desperate attempt to keep our winning streak intact, we sprayed industrial strength weed killer -- dioxin, one of the most potent poisons known -- on large tracts of land inhabited by peasant farmers. Apparently, few people are as shocked about that as I am cuz we're doing it again in Colombia, on a slightly smaller scale. Hasn't done a damn bit of good in the first 4 or 5 years we've been doing it, according to our State Dept., but what the hell, it might work so we're still doing it. We're America, after all, and we don't want no South Mercan drugs messing up our country. Some people down there say it's all because of the demand for drugs in the U.S.

To that I say, "Hey, don't blame our coke habit for your supply." Anybody who thinks spraying massive amounts of poison on a bunch of peasants is a good thing, I urge them to get to a priest, rabbi, or some kind of holy man and ask them to help you understand why your soul is so dead.

Your mentioning "risk life and limb, in order to fight for an ideal;" that can be a very good thing. Other times a very bad thing. The Nazis had their own ideal as did many other war criminals. Believing 'we're the good guys because we're us' is very common in the world. High self esteem can sometimes be a very dangerous thing.

cmac, your opinions are stupid.

Stupid opinions emanate from...well, you know where I am going with this, right?

Witty retorts and reasoned arguments are wasted on you.

You were quiet yesterday...were you picking fruits to make up for all the other fruit pickers out in "las demonstraciones?"

Just remember this, when you pick fruit for me I don't like them too ripe...so please be sure you pick them just right.

Now, you can go on and spend all your time and energy posting replies to my posts. I don't care, I'll just ignore it.

Incidentally, I can introduce you to a few Vietnamese refugees who would differ withyour opinion about the Viet-Nam war. They would have liked to have seen the US keep the communist barbarians at bay. But you pompous, high falutin Berkeley types know it all, so I guess you will also discount the opinions and feelings of my Vietnamese friends as just right wing rhetoric.

As my Grandma used to say....la mierda mientras mas la revuelve, mas apesta.

Hasta luego compadre.
