FYI

No resolution.
Survival through intense chemistry..
Doctors fought most of the day for authorization to use the required extreme level pain medication.

FYI

No resolution.
Increased dosage to the maximum (Doctor recommended).
This allowed me to get six hours of sleep, before pain woke me.

Pain medication, he is concerned it is not effective.
If he decides it is XXXXXXX, he will admit me to the hospital as a crisis for IV medication.

He has been my Doctor for 26 years.
He knows my loathing of hospitals.
He does not ask, we have been through this at least 80 times.
He is old school hands on, pokes, pushes and thumps.
If I don't pass out, can stand without support, and still speak afterward = it is not serious enough for the hospital.

No charge for the quick visit, it is five minutes at the end of each day to relieve his concern.
I don't argue if / when he orders me into the hospital.

Rough day

Pain level is high today.
Just back from the Doctor.
Lab results and ultra sound image results made both of us unhappy.
Kidney function is down.
More diagnostic required.
More than a bit depressed.

?

Pain level very high.
Nausea making liquid consumption questionable.
Attitude: Life sucks.
Wife wants to drive me to the ER for evaluation, (IV medication).
I think the stone is moving, pray it passes tonight..

What you are experiencing sounds brutal Roy. People that have had no pain in the urinary track have no ideal of what they are missing and should hope it stays that way.

.My experiences are modest in comparison but there have been two episodes causing pain that was enough for me. Actually in one case the spasms where enough. When you body will not so what is needed it can tell you in spades.

Good lord...I'm surprised they haven't operated on you to remove them.....loathing or not of hospitals.....thats a gawd aweful lot of suffering for a human to endure.

Don't need to tell you proplonged use of those powerful pain meds are going to lead to developing an unwanted physical addiction to them. Besides not helping the primary issue.
